Throughout history, it is evident how women have been subjected to fulfilling the stereotypes and desires of society, leaving aside their virtues and dreams, sacrificing their freedom, their intelligence and their sexuality. On the contrary, in this time when women are making a place for themselves in the world and are seeking more than ever for their rights to be respected, they are governing themselves.

In the image I use the shape of the cross as a symbol of the sacrifice we have suffered for millennia, substituting a pained Jesus for an empowered and self-satisfied woman, elevating her to the level of a goddess, exhibiting her beauty to the world naked in body, mind and spirit, rebelling against imposed taboos and overcoming personal physical complexes.
